In contrast, ra2 can display perfectly and with the patchs we have adapt to practically any resolution.īut that being said, there is a graphical downside to this unit (other than the 32 vs 8 face thing) and it is that Starcraft shadows aren't coherent with RA2YR, so there isn't one.Īs you can see the shadow faces in a very different direction to RA2 ones (and not all shadows face to the same place, much as what happens with infantry vs vehicles and buildings in Ra2. Even in "classic graphics" on the Remastered client, there isn't actual native resolution and the game paradoxically loses crispness when viewed in "classic graphics" mode. My brother told me it actually looks "higher resolution" in RA2, not only because of the new anim but because the old Starcraft doesn't support widescreen so it stretches and LCD monitors can't run the native 640x480 resolution (get half-pixels). Sadly I don't have codes myself, but all the SHP vehicles are pretty much the same, you just have to count how many frames its walking and firing anims have and enter it on the art controls.Īlso, note that this is a "walking" unit technically so it should have the walker locomotor and tags and accelerate = no, though it will work either way. One of the enchancements is that this reaver has a firing animation which is to "recoil" and open its mouth (equal to stepping backward), so be sure to include the firing frames in the code. Still pretty good for the base aresless game, tho, and can be used in any case. Sadly this was made before Ares supported 32 faces SHPs so I discarded the other facings when making it, original Starcarft unit sprites do have up to 32 facings (16 and mirrored) This is a converted, corrected and enchanced Starcraft 1 Reaver. Since Starcraft is now freeware and only the "remastered" version is paid, I think it's OK for me to share this
